We have young volunteers that help young Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans people or those questionning their sexual orientation or gender. We offer support that includes-
- Face-to-face support 1-2-1 or in a group
- Facebook befriending at ‘Peer Mentorsnw’
- Peer befriending by email – peermentorsnw@hotmail.co.uk
- Telephone or text befriending (07535 538 520- line operates 8-9pm on Tuesdays)
The peer mentoring team is a friendly team of people trained to offer peer support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people. A peer mentor is someone you can talke to in confidence, someone you can rely on, and someone who won’t judge you.
If you are a young person and think you may need befriending then please contact us using the details above (facebook, telephone or email). You can drop in to Lesbian and Gay Youth Manchester too which is at 49 Sidney St (off Oxford Road) Manchester M1 7HB. We are usually there on a Tuesday 7.30-10pm and Saturday 3-7pm and easy to spot in out blue T shorts and hoodies. See our Peer mentoring project welcome pack for more information
